Voith to present advanced coupling technology

On Booth 1374 at Automotive Testing Expo Europe 2019, Voith will showcase different variations of its coupling solutions for test benches, as well as high-performance servodrives that are said to enable the highest dynamics and safety.

Voith’s HP coupling is a key product, designed for testing internal combustion engines where a dummy gearbox is bell-house mounted to the engine. The highly flexible coupling protects the driveline of the test rig by avoiding critical torsional vibrations and shifting the resonance frequency of the system below idle speed.

In combination with the updated Voith hydrodamp technology, the HP coupling ensures safe testing, even at high speeds up to 8,500rpm and in temperatures up to 150°C (302°F). A viscous-hydraulic damping and isolation function give the coupling optimal damping behavior across the entire nominal speed range. The HP coupling therefore ensures all drive components have a long service life and that the test rig outputs highly precise test results.
